The Koller Wireline Crane Trucks were designed for the harsh environments uncounted in the deserts of Oman, sometimes working in temperatures in excess of 50 Deg C.  Both Abraj units are equipped with Slickline and Eline cable allowing Abraj to carry out both disciplines.

According to the motto “Celle – A City with Energy” KMA presented the product portfolio and range of services. Customers, suppliers and interested parties had the opportunity to get to know and experience our products on three close-by stands beginning with workshop equipment over structural steelwork to our newest product line “wireline”.

The Wireline Crane Unit for slickline jobs manufactured for mb Petroleum Services LLC was with its extended telescopic crane a crowed puller.

For the 3rd time the KMA presents itself together with further companies at the Celler joint stand. Our highlights this year: Inside KMA is presenting an angle testing stand which is used in the area of directional drilling. Outside we present you the newest addition to the KOLLER product portfolio: the Wireline Crane Unit. This special unit was developed for our mother company MB Petroleum Services and eases the wireline service business. The integrated crane enables the unit to operate by itself without needing a seperate crane and therefore safes time and costs.

After a short salutation from Mr. Wilhelm Linnewedel (Managing Director) and Mr. Werner Meyer (Head of Sales) the complete range of KMAs production was presented like the oil and gas products, special machines and structural steelwork. Toped off with a guided tour through the production and assembly area the guests could get the first impression of our new product the “Wireline Crane Unit” as well as from our workshop equipment portfolio.

After that the tour the event headed off to a testing well, which was the presenting platform for the “Wireline Crane Unit” in operation, which is distinguished through its crane mounted on the off road chassis.

In addition the Units KMA built for our customers BPC and Multiline were also presented. One was built for BPC and is a PTO driven combi unit and the unit built for Multiline is equipped with a separate power pack.

The system had a good start. The first dispatches got turned in already and are being evaluated. To enhance the employee involvement and motivation to turn in safety dispatches, KWD is saving 5.00€ for each dispatch. At the end of the year the complete amount will be raffled between all employees who turned in a safety dispatch

For KWD it is very important that safety comes first and the safety system shall not be associated with something negative so the whole system is on a voluntary basis.

Though as a service company such safety systems are well known from different contractees, KWD decided to create an own system by the end of last year.

Why did KWD management decided to this? On one side it is easier for employees. They do not have to adapt to different systems of each contractee. And on the other side KWD management can give faster reply to their employees for each successful consequence as a result of a safety dispatch.

Instead of the annual customer Christmas gifts the management Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Wilhelm Linnewedel and Mr. Dipl.-Oec. Marijan Grahovac decided once more to make a donation.

Deputized for KOLLER Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH Ms. Jana Rosenberg, Marketing, handed over the donation cheque over € 1,200.00 to Chief Prof. Dr. Martin Kirschstein.

This amount will be used für additional books, games and many more for the children's playroom at full use, assured Prof. Dr. Kirschstein.

The KOLLER "Tegenaria" LA Trailer consists of four parts: A generator- and tank room, a laboratory and a hose reel area with injector nuzzles to add the chemicals to the drilling mud. The generator room is for operating the trailer independently from other energy sources. The tank area consists of a central operating desk and ten intermediate bulc containers (IBC). Eight of the IBCs are easy to move the other two aur mounted and equipped with agitatores. From the operation desk all adding processes to the drilling mud are centrally controlled.

You are able to transport up to ten prefixed additives. Additional chemicals can be stored below the trailer, so two additives can be mixed on site in the mounted IBCs with the agitatores. In the laboratory the additives chemical components can be adjusted to decide which is the right fit for the job.

The advantages of the KOLLER "Tegenaria" LA Trailer are the central operation in the tank area, the range of additives you can transport easily to the job site, the simple exchange as well as the optimised handling of the tanks, and that it works independently due to its generator.

Originally the delivery should been in March 2011 but Koller put all resources together and finished 33 Foundation Base frames ( 24 single and 9 double foundation bases), 42 SUTs (subsea umbilical termination units), 8 SDUs (subsea distribution units), 9 Bridge Jumper and over 60 SCMMMBs (subsea controlling module mounting base frames) by the end of October 2010.

All frames had to be manufactured and coated precisely and had to meet stringent NDE (non destructive examination) requirements. All weld seams were tested with ultrasonic and a load test was done.

After Cameron completes the equipment, it will be used in the Usan oilfield, which is at the coast of Nigeria. The 2002 discovered oilfield lies 100 km south of Port Harcourt, in a water depth between 750m and 850m. It has app. 500 million barrels of oil and is expected to come onstream early in 2012. This project was the second project for KOLLER for this area after completing the Akpo project in 2006.

In a project for our customer Baker Hughes Inteque GmbH in Celle we already used this qualification properly. Baker Hughes is a top-tier oilfield service company and is acting in almost every country of the world. With nearly 36,000 employees in seven company devisions Baker Hughes developes, produces and distributes products für oil and gas drilling and the oil production. The branch in Celle empoys about 1,200 people which are representing all seven devisions.

Directly after testing the unit, KOLLER commissioned the unit together with Halliburton Italy at the Italian base in Ortona.

The new KOLLER K1 Pump Unit is used to pump and boost the pressure of drilling liquids or cementing. It is ideal due to its light weight and small size as well as the high performance. The special design consists of two seperate containers, which can be easily mounted with a Quick-Action Coupling System.

The K1 Pump Unit can be moved while being seperate or mounted together, which makes it perfect for all jobs on off- and onshore rigs.
